A special meeting of the congregation will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025, after 10:30 am worship for the sole purpose of voting on the welcome statement below. This is the next step in Faith’s effort to become a Reconciling in Christ congregation. Voting members will have an opportunity to vote via an anonymous written ballot. If adopted, it will also be added to Faith’s bylaws.
Welcome Statement:
We at Faith Lutheran Church believe every person is a gift, a unique and beloved child of God. We embrace the call of Jesus to welcome all people, which we understand to include people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, races, cultures, ages, physical and mental abilities, and economic status. We are dedicated to the work of anti-racism, social and economic justice, as well as environmental care. We do this work with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We invite individuals and families of all types to fully participate in worship and the community of Faith. We celebrate and give thanks for each person’s diverse gifts and perspectives. Jesus invites us all to the table and the life of the church. We remember that God’s love and grace are gifts as we aspire to live out the greatest commandment: love God and love one another.
